Today is such an exciting day for the Epic Digital team as our Medication Manager product goes live for Epic Pharmacy’s Aged Care division.
The thousands of nursing home residents Epic Pharmacy provides medication management services to from today will be able to access their full medication profile via a real time link to their pharmacy records from any device, any location, 24/7. More importantly, they can also permit family members or others they choose to have involved in their care to access those records, including sharing them with other health professionals.
This is just the first in a range of digital products we have under development for Epic Pharmacy’s new Epic Connect portal, and we’re gearing up for a big 2016 as they progressively go live. While the initial products are all about working with the known data which already exists in healthcare software systems, we are also hard at work on phase 2, which involves blending this information with that which is currently unknown, but able to be captured via the sensors and devices that make up the Internet of Things.
