Epic Good’s new partnership with Outside the Locker Room

Our Epic Good Foundation brings together the portfolio of  philanthropic activities that Stuart and I and the kids, and the Epic Pharmacy Group, are involved with supporting.  The range of organisations Epic Good supports is diverse, but the common thread linking them is that each has been able to engage us in a way that sees us want to add value above and beyond just writing a cheque.

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Outside the Locker Room, to help extend the program from elite sporting teams to one for players involved in grass roots sporting clubs. OTLR is about promoting player development through empowerment,  education, and leadership both on and off the field.  OTLR offers support to young men and women in a wide range of current challenges such as suicide intervention, mental health, drugs, alcohol and domestic violence through education sessions run at sporting clubs around the country.

OTLR trains facilitators to deliver these sessions, but also train coaches and support staff at the community clubs on how to continue to best support the young men and women they see each week at training and match days.

Young people are facing mental health challenges at a rate and level greater than ever previously experienced, and we recognise the amazing role that community sporting clubs play in providing positive environments that can make a difference here.  With two teenagers of our own this was a cause that really resonated, and we’re delighted to be able to partner with Jake and the OTLR to make a difference.

Hear more from Jake and Stuart here about the partnership and what we’re hoping to achieve.  If you’re associated with a club who is interested in finding out more or accessing the OTLR program you can contact the team here.
