It’s definitely been a big weekend for two of our Epic teams.
A number of our Victorian team members spent 24-hours from 9am Friday morning tag-teaming on a treadmill in the annual Very Special Kids 24-hour Treadmill Challenge, you can check out all the action in our Instagram pics here. This year the event raised a record breaking $570 000, with our Team Captain Andrew Wells taking out the Best Dressed Individual award for the second year running, and Stuart winning the Individual Endurance Award after deciding to run a full marathon distance in his three hour 30 minutes of treadmill time!
Once the Victorian team headed home on Saturday morning for a well earned rest, it was time to shift our focus to Brisbane, where the Aged Care team were relocating from their long term home at Greenslopes Private Hospital into their new location in Annerley. Moving a workplace of around 40 people that provides pharmacy services to thousands of residents of nursing homes throughout South East Qld is no small task, but an enormous amount of planning and preparation had been done in the months leading up to the move and it definitely paid off.
On Saturday morning it seemed hard to imagine that the site could be fully operational by Monday morning,
But by the middle of Sunday afternoon it was all set up and ready to go, thanks to the teams who had worked tirelessly over the weekend. A huge thanks to all of those involved, the camaraderie on display and willingness to roll up sleeves and get the job done was absolutely fantastic.
While very different events, what both had in common was the thing that makes us a truly Epic organisation; the way our people take on a challenge, strive to deliver the very best outcome, and achieve incredible results.
And on top of that, Australia came 5th in Eurovision! A truly epic weekend all round.
